Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports‘ position on GDPR for competitions and shows<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports announces and finances competitions and shows of a national nature pursuant to Section 3, Paragraphs 1 and 2 and Section 4 of Decree No. 55\/2005 Coll., on the conditions for the organization and financing of competitions and shows in hobby education. The financing of these competitions and shows is implemented pursuant to Act No. 218\/2000 Coll., on budgetary rules and on amendments to certain related acts, as amended. <\/span><\/span>
\nIn the framework of organizing competitions and shows, it is necessary to process and provide the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports with certain personal data about the competitors, including their name, surname, date of birth and the school the competitor attends. The organizers communicate the personal data in question about the competitors to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports within the specified scope. The Ministry of Education subsequently publishes this data about the participants on its website. <\/span><\/span>
\nIn the context of organizing competitions and shows, personal data is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation No. 2016\/679, and the processing can be described as lawful processing of personal data in accordance with Article 6 of the General Regulation in terms of purpose and scope (taking into account Article 5 of the General Regulation) for the following reasons: <\/span><\/span>
\n– fulfillment of a legal obligation applicable to the controller, and\/or <\/span><\/span>
\n– fulfillment of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of public authority entrusted to the controller. <\/span><\/span>
\nIn this case, the organizers of competitions and shows (or the organizers of individual rounds) and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports are the controllers of personal data, with the competition organizer being the controller of personal data of all competitors (the organizer of the round is the controller of personal data of competitors participating in a given round) and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports is the controller of personal data provided by competitors.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
